KUCHING: Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg said the RM4.3 billion allocation for the state as announced in Budget 2019 yesterday was not very detailed.
He asked if the amount was only for the building of the Pan Borneo highway, saying the budget tabled by Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng was too general.
“We are thankful for the budget tabled last night but there’s no clarity. He did not mention allocations for schools and rural development projects,” he told reporters here today.
Abang Johari said he had written an open letter to Lim to request an allocation for education in the state apart from offering a loan of RM1 billion to the federal government.
He said the Sarawak government has yet to receive a reply from him.
