IPOH: The Perak government is offering 99-year land title leases to owners of residential lands in the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) and the Federal Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Authority (Felcra) areas.

Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the state government was also offering the new titles to landowners in new villages, “kampung tersusun” and Indian villages.

“The state government is offering an extension of the titles with a discounted premium payment as an incentive,” he said when tabling the Perak Budget 2019 at the state legislative assembly sitting in Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here today.

Faizal also said owners of temporary occupation licences (TOL) living in coastal areas in Kerian, Larut Matang, Manjung, Hilir Perak and Bagan Datuk and unused government reserve lands would be given land titles in stages.

He said the long-standing issue of land titles would be resolved by next year as the Land and District Office, as well as the state Land and Mines Office, had conducted a survey of the eligible owners.
