SHAH ALAM: The youth and sports ministry plans to charter three flights to take Harimau Malaya supporters to Hanoi for the national team’s AFF Suzuki Cup final return-leg match against Vietnam on Dec 15.

Its minister, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, said they were discussing with airlines in the country on the matter so that more local football fans could support Malaysia in the return-leg tie.

“In the semi-final, return-leg match (against Thailand in Bangkok on Dec 5), AirAsia agreed to provide a chartered flight. This time, I want to do the same but with more flights.

“I am discussing with Malaysia Airlines as well as AirAsia.

“We want the voice of our Ultras Malaya supporters to be heard during the game,” he told reporters after attending a programme organised by Sinar Harian here today.

He said a decision would be made soon.

Malaysia, who defeated Thailand on the away-goal rule in the semi-finals on Wednesday, will host Vietnam in the first-leg of the final on Dec 11, before travelling to Hanoi for the return leg on Dec 15.
