IPOH: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has recorded statements from seven individuals to help in investigations into claims of money politics by Pakatan Harapan (PH).

Several photos of individuals wearing PH T-shirts allegedly distributing money to residents in Cameron Highlands have gone viral on the social media since Sunday.

Perak MACC director Zainul Darus said the seven individuals included the woman in the photos.

‘’We are carrying out our investigations.

“I appeal against speculation on the matter as we have not established if an offence has been committed under the General Election Offences Act 1954 (Amendment 2012) and the MACC Act 2009,” he told a media conference at the Perak MACC office in Meru here today.

Zainul said some of the witnesses were called after MACC had studied the photos.

“We picked up witnesses to confirm if the incident had taken place and if they were there at that time.”

He said MACC had received five complaints from politicians and the public on the incident so far.
