KUALA LUMPUR: Domestic trade and consumer affairs ministry secretary-general Muez Abdul Aziz has been appointed the new chairman of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).
In a statement, the commission said the appointment, which took effect on Jan 9, is for a two-year term.
Muez replaces Jamil Salleh, who retired on Jan 8.
The letter of appointment was presented to him by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail at his office today.
“It is hoped that the appointment will (further) improve SSM’s excellent performance as the corporate sector governing body,” the statement said.
