PUTRAJAYA: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) said today it has nothing to do with the “Dana 7 Amanah LHDN” programme introduced by Yayasan Amal Maaruf Malaysia.
In a statement, it advised Yayasan Amal Maaruf Malaysia to give an immediate explanation on the matter to avoid any misconception among the people.
“The LHDN evaluates and approves any application of any institution, organisation or fund that applies for tax exemption under subsection 44 (6) of the Income Tax Act 1967,” the board said in a statement.
It said approval for tax exemption under the subsection was only granted to institutions, organisations or funds that met the requirements as contained in the technical guidelines, titled Guidelines For Application of Approval Under Subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
The list of approved institutions, organisations or funds which have been granted approval is published in www.hasil.gov.my, it said.
A report had earlier said the Yayasan Amal Maaruf was targeting to collect more than RM51 million this year through taxpayers nationwide through the Dana 7 Amanah LHDN programme.
