PUTRAJAYA: Hulu Terengganu MP Rosol Wahid, who joined PPBM yesterday after leaving Umno in December, says he has received no summons from his former party.
“I have not received anything so far. As for the others, I don’t know. You will have to ask them,” he said after receiving his membership card from PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
It was previously reported that Umno would take legal action against elected representatives who joined other parties or turned independent.
It would also ask for reimbursement of costs, while those who left the party would be asked to vacate any seats won on an Umno or Barisan Nasional ticket in the 14th general election.
Larut MP Hamzah Zainudin, who also joined PPBM yesterday, said he had no knowledge of any summons either.
“For now, I say ‘don’t know’,” he added.
Besides Rosol and Hamzah, four other former Umno MPs joined PPBM yesterday: Abdul Latiff Ahmad (Mersing), Shabudin Yahaya (Tasik Gelugor), Mohamad Fasiah Mohd Fakeh (Sabak Bernam) and Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz (Tanah Merah).
