SEMENYIH: Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin says an announcement will be made soon on toll collection, one of the issues in Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) election manifesto ahead of the May 9 polls.
“We just discussed this in the Cabinet,” he said at a rally in conjunction with the Semenyih by-election at Beranang here last night.
“Maybe in a day or two, a statement on tolls will be announced by the minister concerned.”
However Muhyiddin, who is PPBM president, declined to reveal further details.
He was speaking about PH’s manifesto, in which one of the pledges was to find ways to reduce highway toll rates and, if possible, abolish them altogether.
More than 150 people attended the rally, including Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari, Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu and Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
