KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat was left in stitches today after a Barisan Nasional MP suggested that there are many qualified actors in the lower house.
Ismail Mohamed Said (BN-Kuala Krau) also named eight “great actors” in the Dewan Rakyat which include himself and the speaker, and suggested that a movie be made on the lower house.
He said apart from him and speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof, the other “great actors” are Shamsul Iskandar Md Akin (PH-Hang Tuah Jaya), RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong), Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid (PH-Kapar), Johari Abdul (PH-Sungai Petani), Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (PH-Muar) and Mahfuz Omar (PH-Pokok Sena).
“I suggest the hero should be Syed Saddiq,” he quipped.
Earlier during question time, Ismail asked if Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) was hiring its own staff to appear in movies rather than outside talent, referring to the quality of the state broadcaster’s productions.
Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Eddin Syazlee Shith said the ministry was open to everyone acting in RTM.
