JOHOR BAHRU: Osman Sapian will explain his reasons for resigning as the Johor menteri besar on Saturday.
He said the explanation would be made after an audience with the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
“Insya Allah (God willing), on April 13 (I will explain) after having an audience with the Ruler,” he told Bernama in a WhatsApp message.
Osman was asked to clarify whether the decision to resign was made in the interest of the Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) government or otherwise.
Following controversies implicating him when he was administering the state government, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad confirmed yesterday that Osman had submitted his resignation effective on Monday.
Osman, 67, was the 16th Johor menteri besar and served the shortest period of less than 11 months after taking office on May 12 last year in the wake of PH’s victory in the 14th general election.
