PETALING JAYA: Malaysian “human calculator” Yaashwin Sarawanan, 15, who has been making the rounds on social media with his superior maths skills, won second place in Season Three of Asia’s Got Talent tonight.

Taiwanese magician Eric Chien came in first, bagging the US$100,000 (RM412,000) prize money while third place went to Filipino contemporary acrobatic act “Power Duo”.

Malaysian female vocal group Nama, unfortunately, did not make the cut at tonight’s finals.

Yaashwin and Nama were the only two acts from Malaysia, shortlisted from 24 others, who made it to the finals at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

Yaashwin, an SMK Bandar Tun Hussein Onn 2 student, has consistently wowed the judges of the popular TV show with his phenomenal skills in mathematics.

He is also champion of the 2017 International Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Competition.
