KOTA KINABALU: Home Minister Muhyiddin Yassin today presented the approval letter from the Registar of Societies (RoS) for the establishment of 26 PPBM divisions in Sabah, including Labuan, to state PPBM coordinator Hajiji Mohd Noor.

This comes almost a month after Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad officially launched the party in Sabah on April 6.

With the approval letter, Muhyiddin said the state chapter could now start with the formation of its divisions and branches within three months of the approval.

“Those leaders present today are actually members of the pro tem committee.

“Hopefully, the formation (of the divisions) will be completed before the deadline,” said the PPBM president, adding that about 127,000 people had applied to become members.

Hajiji said efforts will be made immediately to form the divisions and branches within the deadline given.

Among those present today were former Sabah Umno MPs, namely Ronald Kiandee (Beluran), Azizah Mohd Dun (Beaufort), Zakaria Edris (Libaran) and Abdul Rahim Bakri (Kudat), as well as ex-state Umno assemblymen.
