Stop the gutter politics, says PKR after shock gay sex confession

PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution says such politics will not bring any benefit to the country.

PETALING JAYA: Calling the viral sex video clips allegedly involving a federal minister and a party member “gutter politics”, PKR today urged the public to stop sharing the footage.

This comes hours after one of the two men in the clips identified himself as the aide of PKR vice-president Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, and claimed that the other man was a senior federal minister.

“This type of politics will not bring any benefit to the people and country,” said PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution, hours after Muhammad Haziq Aziz, who is Shamsul’s private secretary, made a video confession on his Facebook page.

In the half-a-minute video, Haziq, who is part of the Santubong PKR division in Sarawak, also named the person he was with, and urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to launch an investigation.

At least three clips show what looks like a scene from a hotel room, accompanied by the sound of a foreign news bulletin.

Haziq said the clips were recorded without his permission on May 11 at Hotel Four Points in Sandakan, during the recent by-election there.

The clips have been circulating on WhatsApp since yesterday, alongside screenshots of a RM3 million transaction from an engineering firm to a minister two years ago.

Yesterday, Umno’s Lokman Adam lodged a report with MACC over the alleged transaction.
