SHAH ALAM: Youth and Sports Minister Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman has slammed the release of several video clips of two men engaged in homosexual acts.

“I abhor this level of gutter politics. It should not be about sex, sex, sex and more sex,” he told the media at the sidelines of a dinner function here today.

He said it was such dirty and despicable acts that were keeping youths away from politics.

The minister said politics should be about a battle of ideas, principles and about finding the way forward collectively.

He also commented on the WhatsApp groups created for the purpose of distributing the videos and which had names of almost all the ministers and political secretaries.

“Even I don’t have the phone numbers of all,” he said referring to the two groups set up so far for the purpose of circulating the video clips.

Earlier today, fresh video clips and photographs were released almost immediately after Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali denied he was one of the two men in the clips.

The latest clips appear to be part of the same footage, which Azmin has condemned as an attempt to kill his political career.

FMT cannot independently verify the identity of the pair, although Muhammad Haziq Aziz, an aide to Deputy Primary Industries Minister Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, had allegedly claimed he was one of the two men seen in the viral video clips.

Haziq, who is also the Santubong PKR Youth chief, is also said to have identified the PKR deputy president as the second person featured in the clips.
