PETALING JAYA: Federal CID director Huzir Mohamed said Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Aziz will only be released on bail when the police complete their investigations over the sex videos showing two men engaging in homosexual acts.

This comes just hours after Haziq’s lawyers said their client is likely to be released today from police custody.

“It depends on the investigations. (We are) waiting for the medical report, too,” Huzir told FMT.

One of Haziq’s lawyers, Ramesh Sivakumar, told FMT he was expected to be released later in the day.

He said the police recorded a statement from Haziq last night and he was taken to Kuala Lumpur this morning for a medical examination.

Haziq was arrested at Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 6pm yesterday as he was about to board a flight to Manila.

Following the release of the sex videos this week, Haziq admitted to being one of the men and accused Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali of being the other.

Azmin has denied the claim and has threatened to take legal action. He told reporters this morning he would give his cooperation to the police in their investigations.
