Look in the mirror, Azmin snaps back at Anwar
It comes after Anwar Ibrahim openly called for the PKR deputy president’s resignation.
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali has given a sharp rebuke to Anwar Ibrahim, after his party boss advised him to quit his Cabinet post if he was indeed the person featured in several viral gay sex videos.
“Read my lips. Tell him to look at the man in the mirror,” Azmin told reporters at the Parliament today.
Azmin said Anwar should do a “muhasabah” (self-introspection).
Earlier today, Anwar said Azmin should resign if it was proven that he was the man featured in several gay sex clips which were distributed on the social media in early June.
This followed the arrest of nine people for distributing the clips, including former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Aziz, who openly admitted that he was one of two men shown in the videos.
Haziq had named Azmin as the other man, a claim rejected by the minister who pointed fingers at a conspiracy to end his political career.
Among those arrested was Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, seen as aligned with the “Anwar camp” in PKR.

This morning, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said it was up to Azmin if he wants to go on leave pending a police probe into the videos.
