People will reject PH without opposition taking revenge, says Zahid

Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says Umno and PAS must work as a team to unite the ummah.

PETALING JAYA: Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi last night said the people will reject the PH government naturally without the opposition taking their revenge.

He said Umno and PAS did not have to take any action as the people would be the ones who would resist them.

“Wait till the rakyat reject them.

“We (Umno and PAS) are not going to take any revenge but we will wait, knowing that the revenge will come to them naturally without us forcing the rakyat,” he told members of the Balik Pulau Umno division in Penang.

The Bagan Datuk MP, who is facing 87 corruption charges, said it was not only the Malays who were rejecting the present administration but also the Chinese, Indians, Ibans and Kadazans.

“They are rejecting PH,” he claimed.

Zahid also said everyone in Umno and PAS had a role to play to strengthen race, religion and country.

Citing the example of animal sacrifice during Hari Raya Aidiladha, he said one man was not strong enough to slaughter the animal.

“A few people are needed to hold the hind and front legs, head and body.

“In this journey, there are sacrifices (to be made). We cannot allow only the Umno and PAS presidents to unite all, everyone has their responsibility to unite the ummah,” he said.

Zahid had previously said that to ensure the unity of Malays and Muslims under the new Umno-PAS pact, they would not work with anyone in cohorts with DAP.

He had said that DAP was implementing its agenda through its “Malaysian Malaysia” agenda.

The “Malaysian Malaysia” concept championed by DAP rejects racial supremacy, which Umno claims erodes Malay rights and privileges accorded by the Federal Constitution.

Umno and PAS had a loose political cooperation before the last general election but have made the pact official in recent months to unite the Malays and Muslims.
