SHAH ALAM: The Coroner’s Court here has fixed Sept 27 to deliver its verdict on the inquest into the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim.

Coroner Rofiah Mohamad fixed the date to deliver her decision when the case came up for mention today.

“The inquest is now closed, and after submissions have been filed, the court has fixed the morning of Sept 27 to deliver its verdict,” she said.

The inquest, called by the government amid conflicting claims on the cause of Adib’s death, began on Feb 11.

The court took 41 days to hear testimonies from eyewitnesses and expert witnesses.

Rofiah closed the inquest proceedings on July 24 after finding the testimonies sufficient to assist the court in delivering its decision.

Adib was part of a response team sent from the Subang Jaya fire and rescue station on Nov 27, 2018 to the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple area in answer to a call that cars had been set on fire. He died at the National Hear Institute on Dec 17.
