KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah president Mohamad Sabu today declined to comment on remarks by a founding member of PKR that Pakatan Harapan (PH) leaders have been stifled by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Mohamad, popularly known as Mat Sabu, said he respected Syed Husin Ali’s remarks.
“That is Syed Husin’s view, so I respect it. I respect the view of a veteran like him,” he told reporters in the Parliament lobby.
“I have no comment, that’s his personal view,” he added.
Using the analogy of a bonsai plant, Syed Husin recently said the people had been asking if leaders such as Anwar Ibrahim, Muhyiddin Yassin, Mohamad and Lim Kit Siang had been stymied by Mahathir.
Calling Mahathir a sly leader who was “skilled at twisting facts”, he asked if the leaders would allow the people to be deceived.
