Woman cop and 7 policemen caught in drugs raid
A soldier and magistrate among 47 people detained in 1am raid in Jalan Raja Chulan area of Kuala Lumpur.
KUALA LUMPUR: A policewoman and 7 policemen were arrested in a 1am drugs raid carried out at a Jalan Raja Chulan entertainment centre near here today.
The eight were among 47 people, including a soldier and magistrate who were detained. The soldier tested positive for drugs while the magistrate’s was found to be negative.
Zamri Yahya, director of the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department at federal police headquarters said inspections at the first-floor entertainment premises at the Wisma MPL also led to the discovery of a transparent package believed to contain drugs.
He said police also arrested 11 other police personnel who were having fun at the entertainment centre.
“In addition to existing lawsuits for drug abuse, 19 members will be charged with disciplinary action.
“This follows the instruction of the Inspector-General of Police who had previously issued an order prohibiting visits to entertainment centres by all officers and members of the Royal Malaysia Police,” he said.

All the detained police personnel, aged between 20 and 30, were remanded in custody for four days starting today.
