PETALING JAYA: Anwar Ibrahim says there is no change in the agreement by Pakatan Harapan to make him the prime minister, as speculation continues to swirl over succession for the top post.
This comes two days after Dr Mahathir Mohamad said he was unsure if Malaysia was prepared for a transition of power.
Anwar said he had met the prime minister today, where the question of handing power to him was also addressed.
“We also do not agree with efforts that differ from the agreement and which use the prime minister or my name for treacherous reasons,” he said.
Anwar said they also discussed the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Kuala Lumpur.
“We have agreed to focus on developing the economy and preparing for the APEC summit.”
