PETALING JAYA: Police have nabbed two individuals over a brawl at the PKR Youth congress earlier today, which left at least one person in need of medical attention.
Melaka Tengah police chief Afzanizar Ahmad said the duo, a 30-year-old from Klang and a 29-year-old from Kuala Lumpur, were being investigated for rioting.
“Two people were hurt in the incident. One sustained an injury on the right side of the forehead, while the other was hurt on his lower lip, and back of his head,” Bernama reported him as saying.
Afzanizar also said that three police reports were lodged as of 8pm, including one from Mizan Adli Mohd Noor, who was sacked as PKR Youth’s permanent chairman.
Chaos erupted at the PKR Youth congress after Mizan’s supporters allegedly tried to force their way into the event hall at the Melaka International Trade Centre.
It later spilled out onto the streets as two factions engaged in an all-out brawl, with one group claiming “fake” members were paid to attend the convention.
