Sack those involved in brawl, orders Anwar

PKR president Anwar Ibrahim wants strict action taken against those behind the commotion outside the hall where the youth congress is being held.

PETALING JAYA: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim wants those involved in the scuffle that took place during the youth congress today to be sacked.

“Such rude acts cannot be left without any strict action. Hence, I have asked the party’s disciplinary board to sack those who are responsible for it.

“I’m also asking for the police to investigate and take appropriate action,” said Anwar in a statement.

This comes after chaos erupted at the PKR Youth congress when supporters of Mizan Adli Mohd Nor, who was controversially sacked as the wing’s permanent chairman, tried to force their way into the event hall at the Melaka International Trade Centre.

At a press conference, Mizan said he and his supporters had been barred from entering the hall.

He also claimed that he was assaulted and pushed when he managed to enter the hall.

The commotion spilled out to the streets as two factions engaged in a brawl which left at least one person in need of medical attention.

One of the members was hit with a rock which was thrown in the melee, causing him to suffer a cut to his head.
