RON97 up 2 sen, RON95 and diesel unchanged

The fuel subsidy is expected to cost the government RM128.24 million for the one-week period from Jan 4-10.

PETALING JAYA: The price of RON97 petrol will go up by 2 sen to RM2.65 per litre from midnight until Jan 10.

The price of RON95 remains unchanged at RM2.08 per litre and diesel at RM2.18 per litre.

In a statement today, the finance ministry said that without subsidies, the price for RON95 and diesel would be RM2.35 per litre and RM2.43 per litre respectively under the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM).

The subsidy is expected to cost the government RM128.24 million for the one-week period from Jan 4-10.

The ministry said the price of RON95 and diesel would be maintained at RM2.08 per litre and diesel at RM2.18 per litre in line with the government’s decision to postpone the targeted fuel subsidy programme (PSP).
