SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the state government will “carry on as usual”, after an audience with Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah this morning.

He said he was accompanied for the audience at Istana Bukit Kayangan here by state DAP chief Gobind Singh Deo and Amanah chief Izham Hashim.

Amirudin, who is the Selangor PKR chief, said the sultan was satisfied with their explanation that the previous state government wished to continue to administer the state in accordance with the people’s mandate in the last general election.

He said that with the sultan’s consent, the state government will “function and carry on as usual”.

Selangor has 56 state seats with PKR holding 21, DAP 16 and Amanah eight. PPBM, which pulled out of Pakatan Harapan yesterday, has five seats, Barisan Nasional five and PAS one.
