PETALING JAYA: DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang today called for the resolution of the political crisis in the shortest time possible, saying the nation must not be held to ransom by irresponsible leaders prepared to risk great damage just to play their political games.
The Iskandar Puteri MP said it was the height of irresponsibility to “create” a political crisis in the midst of the global coronavirus epidemic.
In a statement, he said those responsible for the impasse must be condemned by all Malaysians.
Lim said the formation of a national unity government must start with the “restoration of the Pakatan Harapan government” and the “support of all for the PH mandate for a New Malaysia”.
He said the five pillar-promises towards the building of a New Malaysia – reducing the people’s burden; institutional and political reforms; spurring sustainable and equitable economic growth; returning Sabah and Sarawak to the status accorded in the Malaysia Agreement 1963; and creating a Malaysia that is inclusive, moderate and respected globally – must be fulfilled.
