PETALING JAYA: Police today confirmed that the Selangor assemblyman who was nabbed in an anti-narcotic raid last month tested negative for drugs.
When contacted by FMT, Bukit Aman Narcotics CID director Ramli Din said following the raid, the suspects had their urine samples sent for testing.
“Some tested positive, some tested negative, including Dengkil assemblyman Adhif Syan Abdullah.
“After the police referred the case to the Attorney-General’s Chambers, the case was classified as NFA (no further action),” he said.
Adhif was among the 17 people arrested during the raid on Jan 12.
According to police, they were arrested on allegations of drug abuse and gambling activities.
Adhif had denied that he was among those arrested but admitted that he was at the site of the raid when it took place.
He was subsequently suspended from his position as Selangor PPBM Youth chief pending the probe.
He also reportedly said that he was “at the wrong place at the wrong time”.
