Man, 71, is 15th virus casualty

PETALING JAYA: A 71-year-old man who had close contact with those who attended the tabligh gathering at the Sri Petaling Mosque last month died today, making him the 15th casualty of the Covid-19 virus.

In a Facebook post, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the man from Melaka was admitted to Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah in Muar on March 18.

He was pronounced dead at 5.35am today.

This latest death comes less than 24 hours after three deaths yesterday, one in Johor and two in Sarawak.

So far 1,518 have tested positive for the virus, with 57 patients still being treated in the intensive care unit. A total of 159 patients have recovered.

Around 60% of the cases so far are linked to the Sri Petaling Mosque cluster.
