17th patient dies 5 days after warded
The 66-year-old had a history of health complications.
PETALING JAYA: A 66-year-old man who was admitted to the Muar Hospital five days ago became the nation’s 17th Covid-19 casualty today.
In a Facebook post, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the patient who died at 4.10am had had a history of medical problems.
He was admitted to the hospital on March 20 after exhibiting symptoms and tested positive for the virus the following day.
“His condition was critical when he arrived at the emergency ward, and he required respiratory assistance that same day,” Noor Hisham added.
He said the condition of the patient, Case 1,251, had deteriorated steadily until his death this morning.
