Syed Saddiq lodges police report over missing RM250,000
The former minister says the money was in a safe box in his house.
PETALING JAYA: Former youth and sports minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has lodged a police report that RM250,000 in a safe box in his house is missing.
He said police from the forensic department had started an investigation after visiting his house last night.
In a statement, he said he could not confirm details or speculation on the incident, including media reports that the money belonged to PPBM, until the investigation was completed.
The police report lodged at 7pm yesterday, sighted by FMT, said the RM250,000 was an “estimated loss”.
It said the last time he opened the safe box was either on March 13 or 14 and that there were no signs of his house or room being ransacked.
It also said that only a few people knew the combination code.

Syed Saddiq urged the public not to speculate or spread unverified news on the incident. He thanked police for their cooperation and hoped the matter would be settled as soon as possible.
