KUCHING: Sarawak has recorded four new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total to 549.

The cases were reported in Kuching, Serian, Bintulu and Tanjung Manis, the Sarawak disaster management committee said in a statement.

The new cases turned Serian, Bintulu and Tanjung Manis into Covid-19 yellow zones. There are currently five yellow zones and 35 green zones in the state.

The death toll due to the virus remains at 17.

The committee said it was working with the health ministry to increase its contact tracing capacity.

It said the divisional disaster management committees would also contact university students who had yet to undergo screening, and warned those who had been instructed to undergo quarantine at home not to go out.
