DBKL closes dirty yong tau foo factory in Pudu

Kuala Lumpur City Hall says the freezer and the storage area for raw materials were dirty.

PETALING JAYA: The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has shut down a yong tau foo factory in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur, after it was found to be dirty and unhygienic.

In a Facebook post, the local authority said its health and environment section carried out a check on the factory today.

“The premises were found to have cockroach colonies. The floors and walls were dirty and had black stains.

“There was no place to wash the equipment and they were washed on the floor.

“The cooked food was exposed while the freezer was dirty and untidy,” said DBKL, adding that the storage area for raw materials was also dirty.

DBKL said it closed the premises under Section 11 of the Food Act 1983.
