KUALA LUMPUR: Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin today said she and a number of other former PKR MPs have yet to join PPBM.
Speaking to reporters in Parliament, Zuraida, who was a vice-president in PKR, said they were not technically members of PPBM despite the parliamentary press release listing her as a member of the Malay-based party.
“As I said, technically, as group, (we have) not yet (joined),” she said, adding that they were waiting for the right time to submit their forms.
“We are waiting for their (PPBM) party elections to conclude, as well as their annual general meeting. We’re still waiting.”
In February, PKR sacked Zuraida, accusing her of betraying the party. She and the other former PKR MPs are presently considered part of PPBM.
Speaking today, she said they were working out the manner in which they would join the party.
She also denied claims that she would form a new party, saying it was not practical in the face of a general election.
