PUTRAJAYA: Police arrested 238 individuals yesterday for movement control order-related offences, including pub and nightclub activities, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.
In a statement, Ismail said 42 individuals were remanded while the remaining 196 were issued compounds.
The majority of the offences, he said, were related to non-compliance with SOPs.
On another matter, Ismail said that 1,755 checks were carried out on individuals undergoing home quarantine.
“Police and health ministry personnel will constantly carry out checks and monitor the individuals to ensure the SOPs are being complied with,” he said.
He also said checks by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) on 28 construction sites found most were complying with the SOPs.
Only four construction sites were found not adhering to the guidelines, he said.
To date, a total of 3,503 construction sites have been found to be in compliance with SOPs, while 572 which did not were given warnings.
“CIDB enforcement officers have ordered 19 construction sites to close for non-compliance with SOPs,” he said.
