ARAU: The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) has ordered the closure of 12 mosques in the Sanglang state constituency and neighbouring areas from today due to the recurrence of Covid-19 infections.
The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also the MAIPs president, said the mosques would be closed until further notice.
“Today’s Friday prayers for the affected constituents will be replaced with Zohor prayer at their respective homes,” he said in a statement.
The seven affected mosques in Sangland are Masjid Al-Rahman in Kampung Simpang Sanglang, Masjid Al-Maghfirah in Sungai Korok, Masjid Darul Salam in Kampung Padang Keria, Masjid Al-Makmur in Kampung Bongor Kudung, Masjid Al-Furqan in Kampung Bunga Emas, Masjid Asy-Syakur in Kampung Permatang Bongor and Masjid Dato’ Jaafar Hassan in Kampung Sungai Padan.
The three affected mosques in Simpang Empat are Masjid Putra, Masjid Al-‘Ilmi in Sungai Berembang and Masjid Ameer Fawwaz in Kampung Sungai.
Two other mosques in Guar Sanji – Masjid Nurul Yaqin in Kampung Chantik Bangun and Masjid Nurul Muttaqin in Kampung Che Ok – are also affected.
