PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has named former Perak menteri besar Zambry Abd Kadir as its new chairman, effective tomorrow.
Zambry replaces Zainun Ali who resigned earlier this evening.
Zainun, whose tenure as non-independent non-executive chairman of MAHB ends tonight, helped steer MAHB during the KLIA network crisis last year.
MAHB said Zainun has been instrumental in the discussions of Malaysia Airports’ new operating agreement with the government.
Her departure from MAHB follows her recent appointment as one of four commissioners and deputy chairman of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (EAIC).
Zambry is a former Perak Umno chief and served as the menteri besar from 2009 to 2018.
He holds PhD and Masters degrees from Temple University, USA and a Masters degree and Bachelor of Economic (Hons) degree from IIUM.
Zambry also served as Professor in Practice at Putra Business School, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), CEO of Mind Institute, as well as CEO of Centre for Leadership and Development Studies.
