IPOH: PPBM remains intact and is unaffected by any attempt to undermine its stability, says the party’s deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
He said the majority of members stood firm behind party president Muhyiddin Yassin despite allegations of attempts to lure them away to join the new party formed by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“At the same time, PPBM will continue to step up efforts to attract new members throughout the country… the coming party election is also part of our effort to strengthen the party,” he said in a statement today.
Faizal urged all party members to give their undivided support to Muhyiddin, who is also the prime minister. “This is the time for us to provide the best service to the people,” said Faizal who is also the Perak menteri besar.
Meanwhile, in KUALA LUMPUR, PPBM supreme council member Redzuan Yusof said the action of certain members who quit the party did not affect its preparations for the meetings of the party’s youth wing, Armada, and women’s wing, Srikandi, as well as the annual general assembly.
He said all party matters would go ahead as planned with Armada and Srikandi divisional meetings taking place on Aug 15 and Aug 16 respectively, while the party’s divisional meetings would begin on Aug 22.
The annual general assembly will take place on Sept 27 and the annual general assemblies for Armada as well as Srikandi are set to be held on Sept 26, added Redzuan, who is also minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions).
