PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin says he will leave it to the authorities to investigate Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali over his quarantine issue and to take the necessary action.
“The Perikatan Nasional government’s stand is that all Malaysians are bound by the law and no one is exempt,” he said.
Khairuddin has come under criticism for breaching the 14-day Covid-19 quarantine period after returning from a trip to Turkey.
In a statement, Muhyiddin said the government viewed the breach of SOPs seriously.
Khairuddin has been penalised with a RM1,000 compound for breaching health and safety protocols. He has apologised for the offence and pledged to donate four months’ salary to the government’s Covid-19 relief fund.
Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador has confirmed that Bukit Aman has opened an investigation paper on the matter.
