PETALING JAYA: Three students were injured after a car driver attempting to flee two pursuing gunmen crashed into them in Banting today.
In a statement, Selangor police said two gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire at a BMW car driven by a bodyguard with his employer inside at 12.45pm.
The car crashed into several students in front of a secondary school and other vehicles when the driver tried to escape from the gunmen.
“Three students suffered injuries on their legs and necks after they were believed to have been hit by the vehicle.
“All three victims were taken to hospital for treatment,” police said in a statement.
Police said the two victims were shot several times in the chest and other parts of the body and were also currently being treated at the hospital.
Police believe a fight between two groups was the motive behind the shooting.
