SANDAKAN: Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob today advised people returning to the peninsula from Sabah to go for a swab test for Covid-19.
He said they should do this as soon as they arrived to ensure that they were not infected by the virus.
He also dismissed rumours that Sabah would be placed under lockdown once the state election was over, saying that the health ministry was still monitoring the situation in the state.
He reminded Sabahans to follow the SOPs when casting their votes tomorrow to avoid getting infected by the virus.
“Apart from the voters, Election Commission officers, vote counters and everyone else needs to comply with the SOPs,” he said at a press conference here.
The health ministry reported 111 new Covid-19 cases in the country today, with 97 of them detected in Sabah.
Sabah has eight active clusters currently, with the latest being the Ubin cluster, which was detected yesterday.
