Another Perak school closed after Covid-19 case detected
This follows the shutting down of three schools yesterday and six last week.
PETALING JAYA: Another school in Perak is closed for seven days from today after a Covid-19 case was detected.
The state’s Education Department said SMK Raja Lope Nor Rashid in Tanjong Piandang will reopen next Tuesday.
However, it did not state if the patient was a student, teacher or staff member at the school.
“The school closure is to allow cleaning and disinfection to be conducted by the health ministry,” it said in a statement.
The school is the latest to have been closed in Perak because of the Covid-19 outbreak, following SK Tanah Kebun in Parit Buntar, SK Klebang Jaya and SMK Aminuddin Baki in Chemor, Ipoh, which were ordered to close yesterday.
Six schools in the Larut, Matang and Selama district had been closed for the whole of last week for the same reason.
They are SMK King Edward VII, SMK (P) Treacher Methodist, SK Convent Kota, SMK Bukit Jana and SK Taman Jana in Kamunting, and SK Ulu Mengkuang in Selama.
