KUALA KANGSAR:
Perak PPBM secretary and Sungai Manik assemblyman Zainol Fadzi Paharudin was the only new face among the five Perak executive councillors who were sworn in before the Perak Sultan, Sultan Nazrin Shah, at Istana Iskandariah here today.

Zainol, who was appointed as a senior exco man, was formerly an exco-level adviser to former menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

The other four appointed were incumbents in the previous administration, namely Zolkafly Harun (Lintang), Shahrul Zaman Yahya (Rungkup), Wan Norashikin Wan Noordin (Kampong Gajah) and Khairul Shahril Mohamed (Bota).

Wan Norashikin, the only woman named in the line-up, was previously chairman of the women, family and community development portfolio, while Khairul Shahril was exco for youth, sports, communication and multimedia.

Zolkafly held the infrastructure, energy, water and public transport portfolio while Shahrul Zaman was exco for industry, investment and corridor development.

The four excos are all from Umno and no PAS representative has been appointed to the exco for now.

It is understood that the other exco members will be named after discussions with other Perikatan Nasional leaders are completed.
