Judge Azman Abdullah had in September 2020 found Tan Ken Meng, his wife Khoo Chun Fun and Wong Tee Ming guilty but deferred sentence to today.
All three defendants, who were represented by Cindy Chow, Jolene Tham and Wong Guo Bin, paid the fine.
Chow declined to comment when contacted by FMT but a court staff confirmed the fines were imposed.
Tan was the managing director of Ho Shen Lee (M) Sdn Bhd and held a 51% share of the company while Wong held 3%. Khoo held no shares.
Lim Shen Lee, who held a 46% share in the company which dealt with manufacturing and sales of building material, had filed the petition in June 2018 after he was removed as a director and replaced by Khoo.
The three applied for an order from Judge Abu Bakar Jais to dispose of some of the company’s assets but were refused as the application was not bona fide.
The three then called for an EGM and subsequently disposed of the company’s assets amounting to RM400,000.
Lim, represented by Lim Kien Huat and Tang Keen Cheong, then filed a contempt proceeding in February 2019 and Azman, who replaced Abu Bakar found them guilty for interfering with due administration of justice.
Abu Bakar has been elevated to the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya.
