
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,663,034 cases.
He said 5,894 patients had recovered, while 463 patients remain in intensive care, 359 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 104 suspected of being infected; 249 patients require respiratory assistance, with 163 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 86 suspected of being positive.
There were 4,247 local infections today, involving 4,125 Malaysians and 122 foreigners, and 15 imported cases.
Of these, only 1.8% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.
Noor Hisham also said there were five clusters reported today.
He said all major indicators declined in the last week, including cases (-7.8%), deaths (-3.3%), ICU admissions (-11%), those on respirators (-3.5%) and R-nought values (-0.03%).
The education sector showed an increase (+23.1%) but the number of active clusters (-3%) and new clusters (-18%) both declined, as did sectors such as workplaces (-4.5%), communities (-83.3%), and high-risk groups (-83.3%).
