
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,695,143 cases.
He said 4,401 patients had recovered, while 408 patients remain in intensive care, 325 of whom are confirmed to be Covid-19 positive and 83 suspected of being infected.
A total of 206 patients needed respiratory assistance, with 137 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 69 suspected of being positive.
There were 3,480 local infections today, involving 3,364 Malaysians and 116 foreigners, and 24 imported cases.
Of these, only 2.2% of patients were in Category 3, 4 or 5 at the time of diagnosis.
Noor Hisham said there were six clusters reported today.
The overall national Covid-19 infectivity rate remained at 0.95, with Melaka having the highest level at 1.02, Negeri Sembilan and Penang at levels just above 1.0, Pahang at 1.0 and other states below 1.0.
