PETALING JAYA:
Floods have affected three water treatment plants, disrupting water supply to 472 areas in the Klang Valley.

Air Selangor said both its Cheras Batu 11 and Air Langat 2 treatment plants have ceased operations temporarily while the Sungai Langat plant had been partially shut down.

It said that floods had caused the emergency shutdown of the Semantan power supply station, resulting in disruption of water supply to the Air Langat 2 treatment plant.

In a statement, Air Selangor said due to road closures in the areas affected by the floods, it could not mobilise its water tanks to provide emergency assistance to the affected households.

“We are not sure when the three water plants will be operating fully again,” it added.

Air Selangor said it will provide updates from time to time through all its official communication channels, such as the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The public can also call the Air Selangor contact centre at 15300.
