
In a statement, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 2,741,179.
He said 3,539 patients had recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,665,034.
Meanwhile, 306 patients remain in intensive care, 244 of whom are confirmed Covid-19 positive and 62 suspected of being infected.
Meanwhile, 170 patients needed respiratory assistance, with 101 patients Covid-19 positive and the remaining 69 suspected of being positive.
There were 2,649 local infections today, comprising 2,532 Malaysians and 117 foreigners. There were also 129 imported cases.
Noor Hisham said that of the new infections, only 2.2% were Category 3, 4 and 5 cases.
Noor Hisham also said two new clusters were reported today.
