PETALING JAYA: A college student has lodged a police report against a higher learning institution in Seremban claiming she felt cheated after it “shut down without prior notice”.
The student, who wished to remain anonymous, claimed that it was her lecturers who informed her of the closure prior to it shutting down.
“We are deeply disappointed by the college’s irresponsible action as we students were undergoing the final semester of our studies. Because of this, we fear we will not obtain our degrees or diplomas as promised,” she said in her police report.
The student, who was in the sixth and final semester of completing her diploma, said she also represented other affected students in lodging the report at the Brickfields police station.
FMT is withholding the name of the college, pending comment from the institution as well as the higher education ministry.
The student also said she had emailed a complaint to the ministry and the latter replied on June 3 to inform her that an officer from the ministry would be handling her case.
“However, until now the officer hasn’t answered my calls,” she said.
