Bukit Aman secretary Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said the advertisement, which also offered discounts for road transport department (JPJ) summonses, also displayed the telephone numbers of those who could be contacted to obtain the “discount”.
“An investigation is being carried out to track down those responsible for spreading the fake news and advertisements.
“The public are advised not to contact the numbers provided,” she said in a statement today.
She also advised the public to check the authenticity of the news, especially on any offer to reduce summonses, through official media channels in order to avoid becoming victims of fraud.
