KUALA LUMPUR: Perikatan Nasional has not held any official discussions for collaborations with other parties as the focus now is on winning the current election, said Azmin Ali.
He said PN would use the campaign period to convince the people of its pro-business policies, efforts to create jobs and give the people assurance of its concern and care for them.
He told this to reporters after attending a get-together event with the residents of Kampung Kemensah here today.
He was asked to comment on the statement made by Barisan Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi saying that BN was ready to work with any party if it fails to get a simple majority in the Nov 19 polls.
Azmin, who is the PN candidate for the Gombak parliamentary seat, said the coalition must maintain voter support and also woo the nearly 70,000 new voters, whose numbers have increased the Gombak electorate to 206,000 compared with 140,000 four years ago.
His challengers for the seat are Amirudin Shari (PH-PKR), Megat Zulkarnain Omardin (BN-Umno), Aziz Jamaludin Mhd Tahir (Pejuang-Putra) and independent candidate Zulkifli Ahmad.
Azmin won the seat in the 2018 general election on a PKR ticket with a 48,721-vote majority defeating Abdul Rahim Kamarudin (BN) and Khairil Nizam (PAS).
